Job summary

Springfield Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. This full-time day-shift role emphasizes infection control, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure high standards of care and comfort.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, disinfecting surfaces, and stocking supplies while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow established safety precautions and manufacturer instructions when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established housekeeping standards, safety guidelines, and infection control practices.
• Clean assigned areas including resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, nursing stations, and offices.
• Maintain utility and storage rooms in a clean, organized condition.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment, furnishings, and supplies according to procedures.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment to keep spaces welcoming.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Clean the inside of resident room windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, stock supplies, and securely store chemicals.
• Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold high cleanliness standards.
