Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Emergency Radiology Accepting Applications for Emergency Radiology Fellowship for Academic Year 2027-2028
Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Emergency Radiology is seeking candidates for a one-year fellowship, designed for radiologists seeking advanced training for a career in Emergency Radiology. Fellows are exposed to the full breadth and depth of Emergency and Trauma Radiology in a diverse patient population in varied environments. Clinical work focuses on the imaging of acutely ill and traumatized patients presenting to the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital Emergency Department, Newton Wellesley Hospital Emergency Department, Cooley Dickinson Hospital Emergency Department, and Foxboro and Harbor Urgent Care Centers. Fellows serve as integral members of the care team to help guide immediate management decisions through direct interaction with Emergency Medicine, the trauma team, and consulting specialists in neuro, orthopedics, cardiothoracic, vascular, and plastic surgery.
Under supervision of our dedicated 24/7 Emergency Radiology faculty, our fellows develop essential skills in optimizing imaging approach and workflow, managing a busy practice and interpreting all imaging modalities across all organ systems. We consider it our job to set our fellows up for success in their first attending job, and we have been delighted to see our fellows move easily into their first staff positions. Many of our fellows have also assumed leadership roles in developing Emergency Radiology practices around the country.
Our fellows share in the evening and weekend coverage. A generous allowance for academic time of up to one day a week is granted to those interested in an academic career and gainfully involved in research. Small group case review sessions and didactics are held daily by an ER staff radiologist, and lectures are exclusively designed for ER fellows on important topics in Emergency Radiology.
