Position Description

We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer, experienced in designing data pipelines using various Azure components and proficient in Python for data processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to liaise effectively between engineers, marketing professionals, and management.

This role involves understanding customer requirements, participating in design discussions, and driving pipeline design and development. It is customer-facing and involves heavy hands-on development of data pipelines, with coordination with an offshore team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing and implementing ETL processes & data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure functions, Python, Snowflake, and other relevant tools.
• Implementing and managing Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and other Azure data storage solutions.
• Serving as the primary point of contact between onsite and remote teams.
• Managing data engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Developing project plans, schedules, and documentation.
• Communicating with team members and management to gather requirements and provide updates.
• Facilitating meetings and discussions to align project objectives with business needs.
• Overseeing big data solutions, ensuring best practices in data management and engineering.
• Collaborating to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses.
• Designing solutions based on near real-time architecture.
• Resolving technical and operational issues during projects.
• Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Utilizing Azure Databricks and other tools for data transformation.
• Optimizing queries and workflows for performance.

Must Have Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience with data integration platforms on Azure.
• Deep knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and related Azure services.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and scripting languages.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with Azure cloud expertise.
• Knowledge of GitHub integration with Azure DevOps.
• Experience working with and coordinating offshore teams.
• Experience liaising with clients and stakeholders, including engineers, marketing, and management.
