Job summary

Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a Bridge Systems Intern in St. Rose, LA. The role focuses on supporting bridge systems, power and control architectures, and maritime communications in a fast‑track, hands‑on environment.

You will assist with factory and internal acceptance tests, configuration, and project assignments, gaining exposure to PID control, communication protocols, and C programming within a shipboard context.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering
• Ability to troubleshoot low voltage electrical components, use of multimeter, etc.
• Knowledge of general electronic control system concepts such as PID controllers, filters, and communication protocols.
• Good communication skills and fluent in English
• Customer service oriented

Responsibilities

• Develop the ability to work on Kongsberg Maritime’s Bridge Systems
• Support the Technical team with Factory Acceptance Tests, Internal Acceptance Tests, and in-house configuration/repairs
• Execute projects assignments from Project Managers and Technical Advisors
• Read and interpret drawings and control system architecture
• Use of tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errors
• Understanding of Power Systems, Control systems, Programming in C
• Familiar with communication protocols (profibus, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc)
