Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer Intern to join our Bridge Structures team for Summer 2027. The internship runs 40 hours per week for 10 weeks, with a dedicated supervisor and practical project exposure.

You will assist with design calculations, modeling, site observations and reporting, while gaining hands-on experience in industry standards. Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level internship; no prior experience required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications for bridges under senior engineers.
• Support structural modeling and analysis tasks.
• Participate in inspection activities, field data collection and documentation.
• Review construction/shop drawings for design intent compliance.
• accompany engineers on site visits to observe construction progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Assist with preparing project reports, cost estimates and proposals.
• Gain exposure to industry design standards and requirements.
