Job summary

HBM Engineering Group is seeking an Engineer I (Structural) to join our Hillside, IL team. The role focuses on 3D structural analysis, bridge assessment, and ensuring compliance with AASHTO/IDOT standards while supporting bridge projects.

Responsibilities include OpenRoads/OpenBridge Designer modeling, producing condition reports, and collaborating with senior engineers and interns on design-build and field inspection activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3D structural analysis and finite element modeling for complex bridges (concrete and steel).
• Conduct fracture critical inspections and assessments for various bridge types.
• Prepare bridge condition reports per IDOT/Tollway guidelines and perform life cycle cost analyses.
• Model 3D bridge geometry in OpenBridge Designer/OpenRoads and prepare construction drawings.
• Assist design-build teams and field inspection efforts for buildings and bridges.
• Supervise and guide junior engineers and interns on tasks.
