Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural CADD Designer in California to support bridge and transportation projects. You will develop detailed drawings and collaborate with engineers to produce construction documents across multiple offices in CA, including Oakland.

The role emphasizes digital delivery tools, BIM adoption, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of bridge drafting experience, proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD, and familiarity with Caltrans

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
5-7 years of bridge or transportation structural drafting and design experience.
Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D.
Experience developing bridge plans and structural details for transportation projects.
Familiarity with Caltrans drafting standards and design practices.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed structural and bridge design drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD environments.
Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, and quantity calculations for transportation structures.
Collaborate with structural engineers to prepare construction documents and design deliverables on a wide range of projects including new build, replacement, and rehabilitation.
Coordinate multidisciplinary designs with roadway, drainage, utility, and geotechnical teams.
Ensure design quality and compliance with client standards and project requirements.
Participate in BIM and digital delivery initiatives across projects.
Support project schedules and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
