Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group is seeking a Structural CADD Designer to deliver bridge and transportation projects across California. You will develop structural drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD, preparing plans, elevations, sections, details, and quantity calculations.

You will collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams across state, local, and federal projects, supporting BIM and digital delivery while ensuring design quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 5-7 years of bridge or transportation structural drafting and design experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Experience developing bridge plans and structural details for transportation projects.
• Familiarity with Caltrans drafting standards and design practices.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with ProjectWise workflows.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital design delivery methods.
• Experience supporting public agency transportation clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural and bridge design drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD.
• Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, and quantity calculations for transportation structures.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to prepare construction documents and design deliverables on a wide range of projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary designs with roadway, drainage, utility, and geotechnical teams.
• Ensure design quality and compliance with client standards and project requirements.
• Participate in BIM and digital delivery initiatives across projects.
• Support project schedules and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
