Job summary

Tectonic Engineering is seeking experienced, full-time Construction Inspectors to support bridge and roadway projects in East Brunswick, NJ. This on-site role requires NICET II+ or Civil Engineering degree, with related certifications and a strong emphasis on field testing, documentation, and safety compliance.

The position involves interpreting plans, monitoring contractor activities, preparing daily reports, and ensuring quality control across highway and structural work.

Qualifications

• NICET II+ Highway Construction Inspection or equivalent required.
• NJSAT Asphalt Technician Certification and TCP/Traffic Control Coordinator Certification preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I or ability to obtain it within a reasonable period.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety training within a reasonable period.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret written specs, plans, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection on highways, bridges, street and structural work and related elements.
• Monitor contractor activity and perform field testing with appropriate procedures and equipment.
• Prepare daily field reports and communicate deficiencies to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Interpret drawings, work orders, and build documents.
• Follow project safety protocols and complete related duties for project success.
