Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Project Manager to lead its Transportation Team in Texas, guiding projects from proposal through detailed design and acting as a subject matter expert on national and global efforts.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree with a Texas PE license (or eligibility within one year), and has 10+ years in bridge design with TXDOT prequalifications and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D. Travel 10–15% and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) required or equivalent.
• Active Texas PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire preferred.
• TXDOT prequalification in Bridge Design, Multi-Level Interchange Design, Bridge/Culvert/Inlet design preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of bridge design experience with leadership capabilities.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% to client sites.
• Experience with TXDOT Project Development Process and state/local design processes a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams through preliminary engineering, detailed design, and quantification of transportation projects.
• Ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget quality standards.
• Manage and support cross-functional teams on internal and client projects.
• Develop new work through existing and new client/consultant relationships.
• Participate in professional societies and conferences as a Woolpert representative.

Position Overview

Woolpert is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Transportation Team in Texas. The Project Manager will primarily lead the execution of projects for our Texas clients from proposal through detailed design, guiding staff through projects and serving as a subject matter expert on national and global projects.

What you will do:

• Lead project teams through the development of preliminary engineering, detailed design, and quantification of transportation projects.
• Ensure deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage and support internal and client cross‑functional teams.
• Leverage existing relationships and new client/consultant relationships in the pursuit of new work.
• Actively participate in professional societies, organizations, and conferences by serving on boards, presenting at luncheons or conferences.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program preferred.
• Active PE License in Texas or ability to obtain a Texas PE license within one year of hire.
• TXDOT Prequalification's
  • Bridge Design
  • Multi‑Level Interchange Design
  • Bridge Class Culvert, Non‑Bridge Class Culvert and Inlet Design
• Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge design preferred.
• Must be able to travel 10‑15% to client sites.
• Knowledge of TXDOT Project Development Process, construction documentation & administration and knowledge in state, local municipalities design process is a plus.
• TXDOT precertification's in TXDOT bridge design/development preferred.
• AutoCAD and Civil3D experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.

Pay Range: $139,200 – $174,000 USD
