Job summary

Purple Cow Recruiting, in partnership with Heartline Staffing, is seeking a Bridge Project Manager for a full-time hybrid role in Allentown, PA. The successful candidate will lead bridge and structural engineering projects from concept through completion, mentoring engineering teams and coordinating with subconsultants.

Applicants must hold a PE license, have 10+ years of bridge design/PM experience, and demonstrate strong client communication and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams while managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, and client relationships.
  • Direct projects from concept through completion with quality and risk management.

  • Develop Project Management Plans and Quality Management Plans for projects.
  • Create and maintain project schedules; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Oversee project budgets and financial performance; report status to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical resources and subconsultants.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks; manage change orders and claims.
  • Prepare progress reports and review invoices; present status to clients.
  • Lead client communications and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Support business development through proposals and interviews.

Bridge Project Manager | Allentown, PA

Full-Time | Hybrid | Bridge & Structural Engineering

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Bridge Project Manager for a full-time hybrid opportunity in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This position is designed for a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive bridge structural engineering and engineering project management experience who can lead complex transportation projects from concept through completion.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bridge Project Manager will lead and mentor engineering teams while managing project scope, schedules, budgets, technical resources, subconsultants, quality, risk, and client relationships. This individual will be responsible for successfully delivering bridge and structural projects while providing strong technical and project leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage bridge and structural engineering projects in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget
  • Lead projects from initial concept and planning through final completion
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines and subconsultants to develop project scopes and fees
  • Develop project-specific Project Management Plans and Quality Management Plans
  • Create, maintain, and manage project schedules
  • Manage project budgets, financial performance, and project status
  • Manage subconsultants and coordinate multidisciplinary technical resources
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate project risks
  • Develop extra-work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
  • Communicate project status, updates, risks, and issues to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in project financial-status meetings
  • Prepare progress reports and review project invoices
  • Develop and lead project-status presentations
  • Build strong relationships with clients and understand individual project requirements and preferences
  • Coordinate technical resources to ensure delivery of high-quality engineering work
  • Lead and mentor engineering team members
  • Establish expectations and goals and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, project debriefs, and lessons-learned discussions
  • Support employee development through continuous performance management
  • Assist office and practice leadership with marketing and business-development activities
  • Participate in Go/No-Go decisions, proposal development, and project interviews
  • Support successful delivery across multidisciplinary transportation projects

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Related Field from an ABET-Accredited Engineering Program REQUIRED
  • Minimum 10 Years of Bridge Structural Engineering and Engineering Project Management Experience REQUIRED
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License REQUIRED
  • Strong Bridge and Structural Design Knowledge REQUIRED
