Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Maine is seeking a Bridge Resident Engineer to oversee replacement and rehabilitation projects with construction values up to $50 million. The role supports projects across Portland, Augusta, or Eliot, ME and Merrimack, NH.

You will manage construction elements, supervise staff, and liaise with contractors and owners to ensure quality and on‑time delivery. The incumbent reports to the Construction/Project Manager and may act as their representative.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 9+ years in construction with 4+ years supervising staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication; proficient in MS Word.
• Valid driver’s license; able to travel as needed.
• Proven safety record and adherence to health, safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee excavation, backfilling, compaction, cast‑in‑place concrete and steel installation.
• Manage inspectors and field technicians and coordinate with contractors and owners.
• Lead progress meetings, review submittals, and ensure conformance to plans and specs.
• Monitor schedule, daily reports, and quantity tracking; manage change orders and negotiations.
• Coordinate final inspections and closeout activities; maintain safety and ethical standards.
