Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Bridge Department in Wall Township, NJ. You will support the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects across New Jersey, including bridge rehabilitation and replacements, from preliminary design through construction support.

You will work with experienced engineers, multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to all phases of project delivery, with opportunities for hands-on growth and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of bridge design/structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with bridge analysis and design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridge projects.
• Prepare calculations, design plans, reports, and specs.
• Develop structural models using bridge design software.
• Assist with load ratings and structural evaluations.
• Coordinate design activities and project schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support solutions.
• Apply AASHTO LRFD and NJDOT standards.
• Participate in field visits and inspections.
• Review documents for quality and accuracy.
• Support senior engineers and mentoring of junior staff.
• Assist with proposals, cost estimating, and BD activities.
