Bridge Project Engineer (Transportation)

GPI has an immediate opening for a Structural Project Engineer in any of our Maryland or Delaware offices. Ideal candidates will hold a Professional Engineer certification and have experience working with public clients in Maryland, Delaware, and/or Virginia.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct structural analyses, evaluations, and designs; develop design options or recommendations with supporting calculations
2. Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
3. Develop and coordinate plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge and other transportation structure projects
4. Perform quality control reviews of work products developed by junior engineers
5. Assist planning and management of all aspects of bridge inspection, design, and rehabilitation projects
6. Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
7. Lead routine bridge inspections for state and local agencies
8. Manage and review load rating computations for structures owned by state and local agencies
9. Develop and coordinate design recommendation reports
10. Oversee and review bridge hydrology and hydraulics analyses

Qualifications:

1. 4+ years of experience
2. B.S. in Structural Engineering (M.S. preferred)
3. PE licensure (preferred)
4. Experience with MDOT-SHA, MDOT-MDTA, DelDOT, and/or VDOT
5. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
6. Excellent organizational skills
