Qualifications

• DESE licensure required, Severe/Multiple Disabilities licensure strongly preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a school setting preferred
• Experience running programs for youth with social emotional learning needs
• Direct instruction in social, organizational, and life skills to adolescents with SEL needs
• Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process
• Understanding of special education regulations and laws
• Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use technology effectively
• Ability to handle multiple varying and complex issues
• Ability to collaborate with building stakeholders
• Belief in helping all students succeed, including minority and low socio-economic students

Responsibilities

• Provide small group specialized instruction with modifications as needed in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies
• Promote planning and organizational skill development addressing IEP goals
• Co-lead small group interventions targeting SEL with counselor/clinician
• Embed therapeutic strategies in content instruction
• Collaborate with general education teachers and embed supports
• Establish home/school connections and work with families
• Develop community partnerships to meet student needs
• Support crisis intervention for students and families
• Serve as IEP liaison and conduct IEP meetings
• Administer testing to determine eligibility for special education
• Use assessments to monitor progress and revise IEPs
• Involve students in transition planning to post-high school life
• Attend departmental and school-wide meetings
• Maintain consistent and on-time attendance
• Perform other job-related duties as needed
