Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to support the Bridge Painting Unit and related project activities. You will review contract documents, assist with scope development, and coordinate with NYSDOT and internal teams.

Preferred candidates hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and demonstrate strong communication skills, proficiency with Word/PowerPoint/Excel, and a valid NY driver's license.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
• Experience with contract documents and project coordination is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees review of contract documents and planning of contract work.
• Directs preparation of scopes and specifications for construction contracts.
• Coordinates with NYSDOT and outside agencies for project coordination.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates the activities of subordinate staff to meet performance objectives.
