Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Assist in planning and preparing bridge inspections by collecting reports, data, equipment, and coordinating routes.
• Review plans and site layouts for information about the bridges.
• Inspect bridge components for structural integrity and safety, ensuring compliance with standards and codes.
• Assign Condition and Appraisal ratings according to agency guidelines.
• Collect inspection data and enter it into PennDOT’s systems.
• Monitor construction progress and review contract documents.
• Serve as on-site project representative.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is desirable but not required.
• Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) or willingness to complete training and certification.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including at heights, in waterways, and around traffic.
• Willingness to travel within PA; valid driver’s license required.
