Job summary

RK&K seeks a Bridge Inspector Assistant to support Virginia inspection programs under NBIS Team Leaders. You will perform field inspections of bridges, culverts and related structures, document conditions, and assist with data entry in bridge management systems.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 1+ year of bridge inspection or related experience, strong attention to detail, and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of bridge inspection experience required; related inspections considered.
• Familiarity with NBIS, SNBI, and VDOT standards; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist NBIS Team Leaders with inspections of bridges, culverts, tunnels, walls and related structures.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, condition assessments, sketches and photo documentation.
• Operate inspection access equipment and support MOT and field safety.
• Document field notes, inspection reports and sketches; verify data in bridge management systems.
