Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer

This opportunity is based in Boston, MA; Worcester, MA; Providence, RI; Merrimack, NH; and Glastonbury, CT. WSP is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer to join our Structures Bridge Design Team in these locations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Bridge/Highway Design Team on project development and design tasks.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparing Bridge Load Ratings.
• Participate in Bridge Inspections as a team member.
• Develop plans and sketches using AutoCAD.
• Work independently or within a multidisciplinary team to execute multiple projects.
• Guide and train entry-level engineers.
• Support engineering tasks, including research, fieldwork, and preliminary calculations.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates; maintain project documentation.
• Stay current with the latest structural engineering practices.
• Adhere to ethical standards and company policies regarding resources and conduct.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in bridge inspection, design, or related work.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficiency in structural engineering principles and practices.
• Interest in transportation and structures, with a desire to grow skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and guide junior team members.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD preferred.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.
• Flexibility to work beyond standard hours and travel as needed.

WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid leave, and more. Salary range: $90,600 - $150,590, depending on experience and location.
