Job summary

State of Michigan is seeking Transportation Engineer 9-12 to perform field inspections of bridges and culverts and to participate in bridge scoping and project calls. You will prepare inspection reports and work with Bridge Unit Engineers and the region design unit, with a readiness to respond to emergencies.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Engineering, a valid driver's license, and a Medical Examiners Certificate for CDL.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Possess a valid Medical Examiners Certificate for Commercial Driver Medical Certification.
• Applicants with foreign degrees must have their credentials evaluated or converted to U.S. equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of in-service bridges and culverts and assist in detailed inspections with Bridge Unit Engineers.
• Prepare inspection reports and participate in bridge scoping and Call for Projects (CFP).
• Collaborate with region design unit and respond to emergencies as required.
