Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, GA office is seeking a Bridge Hydraulics Engineer to join the Surface Water team in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, drainage design, and floodplain modeling, supporting infrastructure projects throughout Georgia.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently lead analyses, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to delivering complex projects. This is not a remote position and offers a path to PE licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in Hydraulics & Hydrology (H&H).
  • PE license in GA or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience with GDOT drainage design and bridge hydraulic analysis.
  • Technical expertise in bridge hydraulics and scour analysis.
  • Experience developing 1D and 2D hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS.
  • Familiarity with SMS (Aquaveo) and other hydraulic modeling platforms.
  • Knowledge of FHWA, AASHTO, and FEMA guidance and design standards.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and lead project deliverables.

  • Support project delivery through PS&E (Plans, Specifications & Estimates).
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Support business development through proposals, SOQs, and RFP responses.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while contributing to technical excellence across projects.

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, Georgia (GA) officeis seeking a Bridge Hydraulics Engineer to join our Surface Water team in Atlanta, GA. This role will support infrastructure projects throughout Georgia, with a focus on bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, drainage design, and floodplain modeling. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently lead technical analyses, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
