Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation in West Haven, Connecticut seeks a Carpenter- Heavy Civil Construction to construct concrete forming systems from blueprints for forming concrete structures. Responsibilities include complying with safety policies, erecting structures and scaffolding with hand and power tools, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining power equipment while coordinating with a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bridge work.
• Must read and interpret blueprints; 3 years assembly/disassembly of heavy form systems.
• Knowledge of concrete pumps, placement/finishing, and rebar installation is a plus.
• Prior rigging knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with leveling tools such as laser levels and transits.
• Must have knowledge of using and maintaining power equipment and possess the appropriate tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and report accidents, incidents and near-misses to uphold Safety first.
• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
• Interprets blueprints or building plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Maintain proper use and maintenance of power equipment required for the job.
