Job summary

Sanford Contractors, Inc. is seeking experienced Bridge Foremen to lead bridge construction crews in North Carolina.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience as a Bridge Foreman or skilled bridge crew leader with a thorough understanding of bridge construction methods, equipment, NCDOT specifications, and related construction activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-focused, dependable, and committed to producing quality work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example while maintaining professionalism, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Plan daily crew activities, anticipate equipment and material needs, assign work.
• Train and develop team members and communicate resource needs to the Superintendent.
• Coordinate with inspectors and identify and correct safety hazards.
• Request layout assistance when needed and communicate planned absences with adequate notice.
• Work the hours necessary to meet project requirements.

Job description

Sanford Contractors is seeking experienced, motivated, and dependable Bridge Foremen to lead bridge construction crews. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience as a Bridge Foreman or skilled bridge crew leader with a thorough understanding of bridge construction methods, equipment, NCDOT specifications, and related construction activities. Team members must be organized, safety-focused, dependable, and committed to producing quality work while representing Sanford Contractors professionally.

Core Competencies

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required. Team members must be able to read and interpret plans, pay close attention to detail, understand bridge construction equipment, be familiar with NCDOT specifications, and have a general knowledge of construction surveying.

Core Duties

Lead by example while maintaining professionalism, safety, quality, and productivity. Plan daily crew activities, anticipate equipment and material needs, assign work, train and develop team members, and communicate resource needs to the Superintendent. Coordinate with inspectors, identify and correct safety hazards, request layout assistance when needed, communicate planned absences with adequate notice, and work the hours necessary to meet project requirements.

Education, Training & Certifications

Preferred certifications include OSHA Supervisor Training, Level II Erosion Control Supervisor, Qualified Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagger, Rigger, Signal Person, Trenching and Shoring Competent Person, First Aid/CPR, and Forklift certification.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, shovel, rake, use hand tools, and handle materials. Work requires standing or walking for extended periods, working in and around trenches or uneven terrain, and performing duties outdoors in varying weather conditions.
