Job summary

Shive-Hattery, a premier architecture and engineering firm, seeks a Bridge Engineer to lead transportation projects from Cedar Rapids and beyond. This role focuses on bridge and culvert design, pedestrian and roadway alignment, and collaboration with DOTs and clients.

Qualifications

• Design projects as a structural engineer for transportation projects of various sizes.
• Must be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to drive and have access to an automobile, climb ladders and wear PPE.
• Overseeing shop drawing reviews.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field
• Experience: 4+ years in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer license in Iowa or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Experience leading project teams and interfacing with clients
• Experience with OpenBridge Modeler, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead design of bridge and transportation structures.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and client communications.
• Oversee shop drawing reviews and project documentation.
• Support business development through client interactions and reporting.
