Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a Junior Engineer to perform engineering assignments, assist in planning and executing bridge inspection and maintenance projects. You will provide engineering support for traffic signals, ITS hardware, cost estimates, and related reports on transportation projects.

The role requires a civil engineering degree and up to six months of related experience, with opportunities to contribute to rehabilitation plans and design notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and six months of job-related experience.
• Foreign degrees require an Equivalency Evaluation by NCEES with official transcript.
• Experience applying advanced engineering principles to bridge maintenance and repair plans.
• Ability to lead, train, and assist in evaluating support personnel and less experienced engineers.
• Demonstrated ethical conduct and commitment to quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, administering, and executing office and field work for bridge inspection and maintenance.
• Develop plans for rehabilitation of bridge structures for lettings and district.
• Prepare and review bridge design notes and complex structural plans.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

NCEES Equivalency Evaluation

EIT certification

PE license (Georgia)
