Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. Responsibilities include preparing designs and contract documents for repair or replacement of bridge structures and supporting construction activities such as reviewing shop drawings and performing field inspections.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree from ABET-accredited programs; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• EIT certification preferred
• Knowledge of AASHTO and PennDOT bridge specifications preferred
• Experience with bridge design software preferred
• Experience with bridge safety inspections a plus
• Hands-on experience with Microstation a plus
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
• Exceptional communication and organization skills
• Ability for limited travel

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and contract documents for repair or replacement of bridge structures.
• Provide support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings.
• Conduct field inspections of highway bridges and document defects.
• Complete computations to calculate load ratings for various bridge types.

WRA is currently seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer in our Mechanicsburg, PA Office. Responsibilities will include preparing designs and contract documents for the repair or replacement of various types of bridge structures and providing support during construction such as reviewing shop drawings. Work may also include performing field inspections of highway bridges, documenting defects, preparing reports, and completing computations to calculate the load ratings of various bridge types.

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program required
• EIT certification preferred
• Knowledge of AASHTO and PennDOT bridge specifications preferred
• Experience with a variety of bridge design software preferred
• Experience with bridge safety inspections a plus
• Hands-on experience with Microstation a plus
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
• Exceptional communication and organization skills
• Ability for limited travel

The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 - $125,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
