Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) invites applications for an Electronic Technician position in District 03. The role covers maintenance, repair, upgrades and installation of electrical and mechanical systems on moveable bridges and related facilities.

You will assist the Electronic Technician Supervisor and lead small work groups. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, NEC compliance, training, and cost estimation for repairs; routine preventive maintenance;

Responsibilities

• Assigns tasks, evaluates working group and provides feedback to the Electronic Technician Supervisor.
• Provides leadership and training to work groups while supervising maintenance.
• Ensures proper and efficient maintenance by inspecting and repairing all District 03 moveable bridges and facilities equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoots malfunctioning electrical and mechanical equipment; informs supervisors of repair needs and cost estimates.
• Ensures work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and trains staff on opening movable bridges.
• Performs routine maintenance, upgrades, and installation of electrical and mechanical components on moveable bridges and related facilities.
