Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

This position offers flexible work arrangements, including virtual or in-office options.

Position Overview

This role primarily involves applying structural engineering and detailing techniques to projects involving bridge design, including steel plate girder, rolled beam, prestressed concrete, and post-tensioned components for highway projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized software, perform load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform design calculations, estimates, specifications, and quantity take-offs; develop plans and details/layouts using CAD; write technical reports.
• Design and analyze new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation projects.
• Participate in bridge condition inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Perform bridge load ratings.
• Conduct construction engineering calculations related to demolition, erection, temporary shoring, and falsework.
• Review shop drawings.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate preferred.
• Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation and/or OpenBridge Designer (OBD) CAD preferred.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Team-oriented attitude and commitment to collaboration.
• Ability to analyze complex highway issues and develop recommendations.
