Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Transportation invites applications for a Structural Engineer in Pierre/Sioux Falls area. You will design highway structures, review plans, perform load rating calculations, and provide guidance to designers to ensure safe travel for the public.

Qualifications include a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and FE/PE eligibility. A remote work option may be considered; SDDOT offers robust benefits and retirement.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
Knowledge of structural engineering design software a plus.
FE or PE license preferred or eligible.

Responsibilities

Develop and review structure layouts for highway projects.
Participate in site investigations and design checks.
Perform load ratings calculations and review construction plans.
Communicate review comments to designers and ensure incorporation.
