Job summary

Woolpert seeks a Bridge Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Ohio. You will lead bridge and related structure designs, perform analyses and prepare plans, and collaborate across disciplines including energy and water resources. Applicants must have work authorization in the U.S.

and a Civil Engineering degree with bridge experience. Responsibilities include leading design tasks, analyzing loads, and mentoring junior staff, with a focus on adhering to standards and delivering

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience with understanding of bridge design and engineering principles.
• Ohio PE License (or can be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Experience in steel and concrete design.
• Experience with bridge analysis software (OpenBridge Designer, finite element modeling, line girder analysis).
• Strong written and oral communication skills and report writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform design for various aspects of bridge, retaining wall, and culvert design.
• Prepare project analyses, load ratings, structure type studies, construction plans, and reports related to infrastructure projects.
• Review or check design calculations, engineering estimates, and plans developed by others.
• Perform hydraulic studies in relation to bridge design development.
• Provide mentorship and support to other engineers.
