Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering and geospatial services, seeks a Bridge Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Florida. You will work on diverse projects, including steel and concrete bridges, retaining walls and culverts, collaborating across disciplines and locations.

The role requires ABET accreditation, a civil engineering degree, 8+ years of bridge experience, Florida PE license or eligibility, and proficiency with design software such as OpenBridge

Qualifications

• ABET Accreditation is required for eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of bridge design experience.
• Florida PE license or eligibility within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with steel and concrete bridge design.
• Experience with bridge analysis software (OpenBridge Designer, FEA, line girder).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of Florida DOT and AASHTO design standards.
• Willing to relocate to listed Florida cities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform design for bridge, retaining wall, and culvert projects.
• Prepare project analyses, load ratings, structural studies, construction plans, and reports.
• Review or check design calculations, estimates, and plans developed by others.
• Perform hydraulic studies related to bridge design development.
• Provide mentorship and support to other engineers.
