Your Opportunity + Impact

The Engineer functions as a technical leader and is required to have a Professional Engineer (PE) license and relevant work experience. This position will coordinate design activities, project submission schedules, and will be responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control to ensure the final products meet technical requirements and client goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Reviews submittals and coordinates project submissions.
  • Prepares and reviews specifications, draft letters, and technical reports.
  • Completes inspections and field work as needed.
  • Researches, reviews, interprets, and applies regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements to design projects.
  • Maintains documentation of work and project records.
  • Possesses knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
  • Develops accurate, clear, and deliverable drawings.
  • Supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverables and reduce errors.
  • Works within assigned budgets.

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience, with PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge design experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Thorough knowledge of transportation bridge project design, development processes, AASHTO and PennDOT standards, and related software such as Microstation.
  • Experience in bridge design, construction plans, specifications, and related documents.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads, and related software.
  • Strong desire to expand knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
