Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a seasoned Foreman/ Supervisor for highway heavy construction projects in Kings Mountain, NC. You will lead craft crews, ensure safety, monitor schedules, coordinate with project engineers and suppliers, and manage resources to meet contract requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of concrete, forming, and bridge construction, and the ability to drive payables and progress against plans while maintaining quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years as a foreman or supervisor in highway heavy construction.
• Expertise in bridge construction, structural concrete, forming, and finishing.
• Strong cost management understanding, with planning and scheduling capacity.
• Experience supervising crews of 20+ workers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Detail-oriented with good discrepancy recognition.
• Positive attitude with strong motivational skills.
• Time management, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority.
• Hire, train and develop craft personnel.
• Develop and maintain open communications with crews, project engineers, safety managers, and clients.
• Monitor job schedule and coordinate with contractors and deliveries.
• Ensure construction complies with drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
• Assist in preparing work plans, manpower, quantities, schedules, and equipment needs.
• Monitor budgets and cost control measures.
• Inform project management of potential problems and assist in solving them.
• Lead an effective discipline team and set goals for high-quality work.
• Other duties as assigned.
