Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks Bridge Coatings Inspectors to support projects across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and other Midwest states. The role requires AMPP CIP-1 level certification and at least 1 year of bridge coating inspection experience.

Responsibilities include inspecting work, preparing daily reports, and traveling to multiple job sites with possible night shifts. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, own vehicle, and be proficient in reading English; prior experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum CIP 1 Basic Coatings Inspector certification and at least 1 year inspecting bridge coating projects.
  • Experience reviewing submittals, procedures, and hazardous waste plans is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with clean MVR and own vehicle required.

  • Inspect, accept, or reject work per specs or codes; monitor waste materials and traffic controls.
  • Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports including conditions, progress, weather, acceptability.
  • Travel to multiple job sites; some assignments may include night shifts.

GPIis seeking highly qualified Bridge Coatings and coatings Inspectors to work on various projects throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and other Midwest states. Experience working in the transportation department or municipal projects is highly preferred. Metalizing or shop inspection experience is also a plus. Experience reviewing contractor submittals, procedures, and hazardous waste plans is also a plus. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for inspecting, accepting, and/or rejecting work performed as detailed by specifications or applicable codes. Monitoring of waste materials and traffic control as specified.
  • Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports on conditions, progress, weather, and acceptability of work. Other reports as required by clients.
  • Travel to multiple job sites if needed
  • Some assignments may include night shifts
Qualifications:
  • Only AMPP Coatings Inspectors will be considered. The individuals must have a minimum of a Level CIP 1, Basic Coatings Inspector, and at least 1 year of experience inspecting bridge coating projects.
  • Individuals with additional certifications including SSPC Bridge Coating Inspector (BCI), and SSPC C3 Supervisor, Competent Person Training for Deleading of Industrial Structures are preferred
Requirements
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19\" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20'
  • Able to wear and operate personal fall arresting apparatus, and work at a height of 6' or higher
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work in a confined space by the definition of OSHA Construction Standards 29CFR 1926
  • Able to wear and work utilizing a respirator or SCBA type of breathing apparatus
