Job summary

WSP USA invites students to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Group as a Civil Engineering Intern in Worcester, MA, with Boston and Glastonbury CT options. This 12-week summer program starts May 17, 2027 and is open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in Civil Engineering.

You will assist in field work, design calculations, cost estimates, and documentation while gaining mentorship from senior staff and exposure to real projects.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Structural/Bridge engineering and a desire to grow skills related to WSP's projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.
• Safety awareness and ability to adhere to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn basic Bridge/Civil Engineering principles and inspection techniques.
• Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to code of conduct.
