Job summary

Van Cleve Bridal & Evening in Paoli, PA is seeking a part-time seamstress to support the Primary Seamstress in a luxury bridal and eveningwear boutique. The role involves alterations work, fittings with clients, and working with delicate fabrics such as lace and beading.

Approximately 15 hours per week, per diem/seasonal, hourly compensation based on experience. Candidates should have professional garment alteration experience, with bridal/formalwear experience highly preferred, strong sewing

Qualifications

• Professional garment alteration experience required
• Experience with bridal gowns and/or formalwear highly preferred
• Strong machine-sewing and hand-sewing skills
• Comfortable working with delicate fabrics, lace, beading, and specialty materials
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Ability to accurately pin, fit, and assess garments
• Comfortable working directly with clients during fittings
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
• Professional, friendly and client-focused demeanor
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support Primary Seamstresses with day-to-day alterations and fittings
• Meet with clients to assess fit and discuss alterations
• Pin and fit bridal gowns, eveningwear, and formal garments
• Perform alterations using machine and hand-sewing techniques
• Complete hems, bustles, closures, and other garment modifications
• Work with delicate fabrics and specialty materials
• Steam and press gowns for fittings and pickup
• Assist with finishing and detailed handwork
• Maintain a clean, organized alterations workspace
• Collaborate with team to ensure quality workmanship and client experience
