Job summary

Van Cleve Bridal & Evening in Paoli, PA is seeking a part-time Seamstress to support the Primary Seamstress with alterations and client fittings. The 15-hour-per-week, hourly role involves both machine and hand sewing, working with bridal gowns, eveningwear, and delicate fabrics.

You will meet with clients, pin and fit garments, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship and a warm, professional client experience. Flexible schedule and per diem/seasonal basis.

Qualifications

• Professional experience performing garment alterations is required.
• Experience with bridal gowns and/or formalwear is highly preferred.
• Strong machine-sewing and hand-sewing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support our Primary Seamstresses with day-to-day alterations and fittings.
• Meet with clients to assess fit, discuss alterations, and provide a warm, professional experience.
• Pin and fit bridal gowns, eveningwear, and formal garments.
• Perform alterations using both machine sewing and hand-sewing techniques.
• Complete hems, bustles, closures, adjustments, and other garment modifications.
• Work with delicate fabrics, lace, beading, appliqués, and other specialty materials.
• Steam and press gowns and garments for fittings and final pickup.
• Assist with finishing and detailed handwork.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional alterations workspace.
• Work closely with our Primary Seamstresses and bridal/eveningwear team to ensure quality workmanship and an exceptional client experience
