The State of Iowa seeks an epidemiologist to support BRFSS and IYS within the Performance and Operations team. You will lead data collection, analysis, and reporting for population health surveillance projects in Iowa.

You will create annual datasets, perform statistical analyses, and advise researchers on proper use of survey data using SAS or SPSS. This on-site role emphasizes collaboration and public health impact in Iowa.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SAS/SPSS and epidemiological surveillance.
• Experience with population health data and surveillance systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain annual BRFSS and IYS datasets.
• Perform performance analysis of BRFSS and IYS data with statistical measures.
• Calculate estimates of risk factors by demographic groups.
• Utilize statistical software such as SAS.
• Apply weighting and data adjustment techniques to analyses.
• Assess data quality and integrity of survey datasets.
• Advise researchers on appropriate use of survey data.
• Communicate statistical findings to diverse audiences.
• Assist in planning annual BRFSS questionnaire and sampling.
