Job summary

Societe, a small independently-owned brewery in San Diego, California, is seeking a hardworking, team-oriented Brewer I to join our production team. The role focuses on cellar duties and coordinating with the brewhouse throughout the day, including tank additions, CIP, yeast handling, and transfers.

Ideal candidates have production brewery experience or brewing education, a calm temperament in a fast-paced setting, and a willingness to grow with our brewery.

Responsibilities

  • Cellar duties and coordinating with the brewhouse throughout the day.
  • Cellar work and tank additions (dry hopping, fining, temperature changes).
  • Tank CIP/Prepping.
  • Yeast cell counts and harvesting.
  • Beer transfer/centrifuge operation.
  • Coordinate with brewhouse for tank prepping/yeast harvesting and pitching.
  • Aid with packaging/kegging/keg washing as needed.

We are looking for a hardworking, team oriented brewer to join our team! There is structured opportunity for advancement within the brewing team, as well as opportunities for further brewing related education.

Summary

The Brewer I position is responsible for cellar duties and coordinating with the brewhouse throughout the day. Duties include:

  • Cellar work and tank additions (dry hopping, fining, temperature changes)
  • Tank CIP/Prepping
  • Yeast cell counts and harvesting
  • Beer transfer/centrifuge operation
  • Coordinate with brewhouse for tank prepping/yeast harvesting and pitching
  • Aid with packaging/kegging/keg washing as needed

  • Willing to creatively problem solve as issues arise
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma , and more than a year of experience in the industry with a related degree in brewing science preferred

NECESSARY LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

). A degree in brewing, or related science, other certifications issued via organizations such as IBD, and Siebel are a plus
