Job summary

Schwartz Farms, Inc. is seeking a Department Leader - Breeding to oversee the breeding operations, supervise staff, and ensure efficient production flow across our breeding barns.

You will implement SFI protocols, manage pig flow, perform regular heat and pregnancy checks, schedule vaccines, maintain sow breeding records, and uphold animal welfare and bio-security standards while training and developing the team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and execute artificial breeding techniques and timing requirements to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with SFI protocol and bio-security policies.
• Manage pig flow, in and out of breeding barns to maximize throughput.
• Perform heat and pregnancy checks on animals on a regular basis.
• Maintain sow breeding records and related documentation; ensure PQA status.
