Job summary

Breck School in Minneapolis is seeking an Extended Day Program Teacher to oversee safety and well-being of Lower School students in the after-school program.

You will create a safe, nurturing environment for Preschool and Kindergarten, maintain attendance, plan developmentally appropriate activities, communicate with families, and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Post-secondary education in an education-related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create and facilitate an after-school environment that is safe and nurturing for Lower School students (Preschool & Kindergarten).
• Maintain a consistent attendance system to ensure accountability of children in the Extended Day Program.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that engage children after school.
• Support communication with Extended Day families through monthly calendars and regular updates.
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsibility in the role of Program Leader.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships among students, parents and colleagues.

Hours: 3:00-6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, during school days
