Job summary

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is seeking a full-time Breastfeeding Coordinator for the WIC program. You will promote health and nutrition for women, infants and children, determine eligibility, and provide breastfeeding education to participants.

Role includes coordinating with the State breastfeeding coordinator, training staff, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of breastfeeding guidelines to improve community health outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; social service education preferred.
• CLC certification with 35+ hours lactation training.
• At least 1 year counseling breastfeeding; strong communication skills.
• Valid Nevada driver's license and reliable transportation for business use.

Responsibilities

• Meet with State Breastfeeding Coordinator and local agency coordinators as scheduled.
• Oversee planning and evaluation of breastfeeding promotion and staff training.
• Stay current with breastfeeding guidance and inform staff of changes.
• Coordinate with community breastfeeding resources and partners.
• Monitor local agency breastfeeding rates and outcomes.
• Perform CPA/Clerk duties as needed.
• Provide lactation training consisting of 35+ hours within one year of hire and every five years thereafter.
• Determine eligibility for participants per federal, state and local policies.
• Conduct nutrition assessments and provide education to participants.
