Job summary

Northwell Health Med Practice CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Breast Surgery department in Danbury, CT. The role supports clinicians with patient care, triage, and post-visit follow-up in a multi-specialty practice.

Work is Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, with 8-hour shifts between 8am and 5pm. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time externals. Active CT RN license and BLS required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in CT; BLS certification required within 30 days.
• Three years job-related experience; one-year supervisory experience required.
• Five years job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages and assesses patient conditions via phone or in-person consultations.
• Determines urgency and type of care required for patients based on assessment.
• Provides medical advice and guidance based on assessments.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and other care team members about patient statuses.
• Prepares materials, supplies, and the patient to assist the clinician with the exam.
• Obtains patient history and medical information.
• Provides direct patient care (ear irrigation, vaccinations, wound care, etc.).
• Collects and processes specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
• Instructs patients on preventive care, medications, tests, and symptom monitoring.
• Contacts patients to provide follow-up or relay physician instructions.
• Upholds compliance and participates in quality improvement.
