Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Breast Surgery practice at Kings County Hospital Center. The NP will provide outpatient care for high-risk and non-surgical benign breast patients in our Comprehensive Breast Center.

Qualifications include NYS NP and RN licensure, NPI/DEA registration (or eligibility), prescriptive authority, and 1+ year NP experience. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current New York State NP license and RN licensure.
• NPI and DEA registration or eligibility.
• Prescriptive authority in New York State.
• 1+ year NP experience preferred; breast health, surgery, oncology experience preferred.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous medical and nursing care to patients and families.
• Coordinates health care for various patient populations and diagnoses illnesses.
• Differentiates normal vs. abnormal findings in screening to detect changes needing physician intervention.
• Develops and maintains partnerships with community-based organizations and makes referrals.
• Evaluates patient data and plans appropriate nursing interventions.
• Consults with physicians to optimize treatment and outcomes.
• Formulates care plans based on history and exams.
• Manages patient care plans and ensures adherence to clinical standards.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and may prescribe interventions.
• Schedules patient sessions to ensure continuity of care.
