Job description

Job Title: Breast Surgeon

Location: VMC Main Campus, Renton, WA. Full Time, 1.0 FTE. General Schedule: Four clinical days per week with a mix of clinic and operating room; one administrative day per week. 100% breast surgery with dedicated OR block time.

About The Position

Lead our Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer clinic as the first Fellowship‑Trained Breast Surgeon for the Valley Clinic Network. Provide radiology support with a Breast Center for imaging and on‑site Nuclear Medicine. Lead high‑risk screening and genetics clinic for high‑risk screening protocol patients and genetic testing and counseling. Collaborate with Oncology in development of our new on‑site Cancer Center. Call responsibilities include 1:6 group call shared between General Surgeons and Colorectal Surgeons covering established patients. No ED call; full 24/7 support provided by the Acute Care Surgery team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive breast surgery (onsite and office‑based)
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with oncology, radiology, genetics, and other specialty teams
• Prescribe and manage postoperative care, including pain management and adjuvant therapies
• Maintain accurate surgical documentation and case reports
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Contribute to teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, and clinical staff

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Fellowship‑trained in Breast Surgery
• Board Eligible or Certified through the American Board of Surgery
• Ability to obtain medical professional license in the State of WA and DEA with full prescriptive authority
• Clinical experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
