Job summary

Novant Health in Salisbury, NC is seeking a Breast Sonographer for our Outpatient Imaging team. This full-time role provides diagnostic ultrasound services and supports physicians in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will work Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with a focus on patient preparation, equipment operation, and collaboration with radiologists and clinical teams. ARDMS certification and a CAAHEP-recognized program are required; one year of breast sonography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program required.
• ARDMS certification in Breast Sonography – RDMS, BR; state license required.
• One year of breast sonography experience preferred.
• Life support training per NH-HR-3096 policy may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure quality imaging and patient care.
• Maintain equipment and ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Facility: NHI Julian Road (Outpatient Imaging) | Location: Salisbury, NC | Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM)

What You'll Do

The Breast Sonographer assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.


• Experience: One year of breast sonography experience, preferred.


• Licensure/Certification: Certified and registered by ARDMS in Breast Sonography – RDMS,BR,required. Applicable state license,required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement,required.


• Additional Skills (required): Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates sonography equipment.
