Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Breast Pathologist in Florida to analyze clinical laboratory data and provide professional pathological opinions on Surgical Pathology cases. The role includes sign-out of diagnostic breast pathology, frozen section evaluations, and high-level consultation in a collaborative hospital setting.

Requirements include MD/DO with board certification in AP/CP, potential breast pathology fellowship, and Florida licensure or licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.
• Breast pathology fellowship strongly preferred.
• FL medical license or eligibility to obtain license.
• Three years of post-residency experience preferred.
• CLIA '88 compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Sign out diagnostic Breast Pathology cases and provide expert opinions.
• Perform frozen section evaluations as needed.
• Render gross and microscopic diagnoses incorporating molecular/genetic data when applicable.
• Fulfill delegated medical director duties for anatomic and clinical labs.
• Share hospital on-call schedules and tumor board responsibilities.
• Interpret clinical lab data and provide pathology consults.
• Participate in quality control and QA activities.
• Assist in supervision of staff and coordination with leadership.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain turnaround time, quality, and service.
• Provide guidance to technologists and resolve case issues.

Job Details

As a Breast Pathologist you will analyze clinical laboratory data to provide professional pathological opinions on Surgical Pathology cases.

Responsibilities

• Focus on diagnostic Breast Pathology case sign out and service
• Perform frozen section evaluations, as needed
• Render expert gross and/or microscopic diagnoses, incorporating advanced molecular or genetic information when appropriate
• Perform delegated medical director duties with regards to both anatomic and clinical laboratories
• Share equally in hospital pathology on-call schedules and tumor board responsibilities
• Read and interpret clinical laboratory data and provide professional consultation on clinical pathology inquiries
• Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures and participate in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activities
• Assist the laboratory administrative director and Pathology Chair in delegated supervision of technical and support staff
• Work closely with clinical and administrative staff and leadership to ensure the highest standards of turnaround time, quality, and customer service are maintained
• Provide expertise and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve case issues

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O degree and board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required,
• Three years of post-residency experience preferred but not required
• Breast pathology fellowship strongly preferred
• Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in FL or be eligible to obtain licensure
• Strong customer focus and understanding of hospital/laboratory operations
• Ability to fulfill CLIA '88 if required.
