Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging procedures with focus on accurate positioning and high-quality imaging. The role requires ARRT-R, ARRT-M certifications, and BLS, along with a minimum of one year in breast imaging.

In this position you will educate patients, mentor learners, and participate in ongoing quality assurance while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced radiology department at the Richmond campus.

Qualifications

• 1 year of work experience as Breast Imaging Technologist or equivalent required.
• ARRT-R certification required for Radiography practice.
• ARRT-M certification in Mammography preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging procedures and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Determine radiographic technique exposure factors and optimize positioning.
• Provide patient education and maintain patient safety according to ALARA principles.
• Mentor students and learners in the Radiology environment and participate in QA activities.
• Document imaging orders and results in the medical record and escalate emergencies as needed.
