Job summary

Azza HealthCare Agency in Luzerne County is seeking a Mammography Technologist to conduct and assist with breast imaging using ionizing radiation and ultrasound. You will ensure accurate data collection and analysis for interpretation by licensed practitioners, while documenting medications and radiation exposure per policy.

Responsibilities include patient identification, ALARA safety, image quality evaluation, and education of students and staff.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required).
Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

Obtain correct patient identification, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
Utilize imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care.
Prepare or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data transfer and storage.
Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
Image pathologic breast specimens and perform breast ultrasound procedures as prescribed.
Perform mammographic procedures and assist with clinical breast examinations.
Demonstrate commitment to departmental and organizational priorities, participate in quality improvement activities, and maintain proficiency in all duties.
