Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate mammography and ultrasound equipment, perform biopsy guidance, and support quality control and administrative duties. The role requires ARRT(R) certification and Texas licensure, with MQSA training.

The candidate should have accreditation in mammography and prefer at least three years of experience in mammography, and be able to work with RIS systems and perform complex imaging procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited mammography program or equivalent and ARRT(R) is required.
• MQSA Initial Training in Mammography contact hours and Mammographic Modality course required.
• Licensure by the Texas Department of Health is mandatory.
• Three years of experience in mammography is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment, x-ray equipment, and film processors to produce clear images for screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce breast sonograms and guide invasive procedures.
• Operate breast core biopsy equipment and assist galactography, needle localization, and fine needle aspiration procedures.
• Document and perform QA/QC activities for the mammography program.
• Perform administrative duties and use RIS system as needed.
